Notice Regarding the Child and Childcare Support Contribution System
Thank you for your continued cooperation.
We would like to inform you about the Child and Childcare Support Contribution System, which will be introduced by the Japanese government as part of its measures to address the declining birthrate.

■ What is the Child and Childcare Support Contribution System?
As part of national efforts to combat the declining birthrate, the government has established the Child and Childcare Support Contribution System.
This system is intended to serve as a funding source for policies that support children and child-rearing households, such as the expansion of child allowance programs.
Based on the concept of supporting child-rearing across society as a whole, the contribution is collected through the public health insurance system.
Under this system, health insurance associations act as collection agents on behalf of the government, collecting the contribution as part of insurance premiums and remitting it to the government.
Please note that the contribution will not be used for insurance benefits or health promotion programs of the Sony Health Insurance Association.
The contribution rate is uniformly determined by the national government and is expected to be increased in stages through 2028, with the maximum rate anticipated to be approximately 0.4%.

■ Impact on Employees
Starting with salary and bonus payments for April 2026, employees will be required to newly contribute to the Child and Childcare Support Contribution, in addition to the health insurance premiums currently paid and long-term care insurance premiums (applicable to those aged 45 to under 65).
The government has indicated a contribution rate of 0.23%, which will be shared equally between the employer and the insured employee.
The actual contribution amount will vary depending on each individual’s standard monthly remuneration.
